The mosque, whose construction started in 2013, is the largest mosque in the history of the republic. Çamlıca Mosque has taken its place among the new silhouettes of the Bosphorus with its 57 thousand square meter area, 6 minarets and its size that allows 63 thousand people to worship at the same time.
Two minarets of the mosque are 90 meters high, while the remaining four minarets are 107.1 meters hight difference symbolizing the entrance of Turks to Anatolia. The dome of the mosque is 72 meters high and this symbolizes 72 nations living in Istanbul and the diameter of the dome of 34 meters symbolizes Istanbul.
There is also a museum, an art gallery, a library, a 1000-seat conference hall, and 8 art workshops within the mosque.
